Having joined the Odyssey fitness team in late 2018, we wanted to catch up with George Ariss after his latest skiing trip to see how he enjoyed his time on the slopes.
“Although I am a big ski enthusiast and have just come back from a superb holiday full of skiing by day and partying by night, my training to get fit for the ski season is over.
In preparation to be slope ready I trained using specific
leg and muscular endurance programmes, using a variety of exercises and equipment at the club. So, if you are an all year-round skier then I have the perfect workout and diet for you, to stop those legs from feeling on fire.”
“Here’s an example of one of my workouts from earlier this year:
- 5 minutes synchro warm-up (changing technique)
- Leg press
- Leg Curl
- Kettle bell squat
- Kettle bell swings
- Russian twists
- Planks
- Cool down on the climb
“Now that my skiing season is becoming a distant memory, and with summer quickly approaching, my mind is all set on losing fat and cutting down, to try and get as lean as possible.
Do we share the same goal? If so, I have some great diet tips and exercises to get you speeding to your dream six pack much quicker than you think.”
Here’s an example of one of my upper body workouts I’m going to be using for this summer:
- Quick run on the treadmill to warm up
- Bent over row
- Bench Press
- Shoulder Press
- Individual Row
- Incline Press
- Russian twists
- Leg ups
- Plank
Here’s an example of one of my lower body workouts I’m going to be using for this summer:
- Climb as a warm up
- Squats
- Stiff leg dead lifts
- Leg Press
- Leg Curl
- Lunges
- Leg extensions
- End on a Few stretches
