As you may have noticed, preparatory works have now started for our brand-new Hydrotherapy Pool, an exciting new addition to Odyssey that we can’t wait to bring to you.
The fountain has now been moved to its new location, along with the large feature stones. This allows us to begin work on the new reception block, before eventually opening through to the current reception area, where the new Hydrotherapy Pool will be situated and accessed directly from poolside.
What to expect over the coming weeks
The dates below are indicative and may change as the project progresses. We’ll keep you updated if timings or arrangements change.
From the beginning of September, you will start to see more significant changes around reception. A temporary reception will be created within the main café seating area, allowing the works to continue while keeping the club operating.
From Tuesday 8th September, the new entrance gates will be in place and work will begin on the new wall enclosing the Hydrotherapy Pool.
The week beginning 14th September will be the most disruptive stage of the initial works. This will involve breaking up of the existing flooring and some significant construction work, meaning there will inevitably be increased noise and disruption around the club.
We want to apologise in advance for this. We appreciate that noise and disruption aren’t what you come to Odyssey for, and we will do everything we can to minimise the impact. Some morning classes may need to be adjusted or relocated during the noisiest periods, particularly while the breaking up of the floor is taking place. We will keep you updated on any changes as early as possible.
This is a major investment in the future of Odyssey, and although the next few weeks may be a little challenging, the end result will be something really special.
